Winters Electric would like to invite you to the 2nd annual “Sample the Sierra” event here in South Lake Tahoe. The festival is a cooperative effort to increase awareness of the region’s bounty, heritage, culture and activities through a market-to-table event featuring tastings from the Sierra Nevada’s best chefs and restaurants–all created with local produce, and paired with tastings from local wineries and breweries. There will be many booths sponsored by local companies offering tastes of local art and handmade crafts as well as live entertainment. Look for the Winters Booth!!

Lake in the Sky Airshow

Join Winter’s Electric at the 22nd annual “Lake in the Sky Airshow” at the Lake Tahoe Airport. It is a wonderful event that is open to the public with lots to see and to do. There will be a static display of airplanes and helicopters, many vendor booths, good food and of course talented air show performers. We will see you there on August 27th from 8am- 3:30pm. Look for our booth!!

In this economy, many people are trying to save a few dollars. However, hiring an un-licensed electrical contractor is not a good place to save. Their hourly rate may seem like a good deal at first, but the damage they can cause may cost you thousands of dollars to repair in the long run!! Check to make sure the company you hire has an active license and is fully insured and bonded. Electric car debut

We unveiled our car last night at the Business Expo held in the Mont Bleu convention center. It was a great success. The car was so popular, our electric bicycles and electric motorcycles were ignored for the most part after being the frenzy last year. To quote an attendee “we stole our own show”.

The DC converter uses the battery pack to provide 12 volts to run the car accessories

We had the battery racks made by a local blacksmith and made clear acrylic covers for each pack. The total weight of each of the 6 “bricks” is 76 pounds. Not bad.

The lithium batteries

We received the 48 3.6 volt lithium batteries from China. They will be connected together to make a 160 volt battery pack.

We finished up the power module wiring and got the drive belt and pulleys. (we still need to install the idler pulley). It’s ready for final installation in the car.
